Bio

Hello! My name is Lucy (she/her) and I’m a PhD student in the Applied Math department at CU Boulder. I discovered my love for the field through a course called “Applied Math I” at my undergraduate institution, Bryn Mawr College, where I first learned about epidemic modeling and computational studies of disease. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work on quantitative studies of physiological and autoimmune pathologies, where I gained a deeper appreciation for immune dynamics and their ability to be simulated with varying levels of complexity. Currently, my research interests include exploring techniques for modeling the within-host progression of infectious diseases, and how these kinetics impact the successful growth or mitigation of outbreaks.

Outside of work, I love to sing, bake, and work my way through the intermediate level of AllTrails. I also enjoy being quite mediocre at badminton and reading for fun when I can.
